The way to independence
Living means to have a home, to be comfortable, to live in a self-determined way and to be secure. In order to make these things possible for people with disabilities we offer the m|c Resident Training.
We mediate the skills that allow a life as independent as possible - in facilities, in ambulatory support or even in one´s own four walls: alone, with a partner or in a living community.
The m|c Resident Training has seven appartments that are equipted each with a living room, a sleeping room, a kitchenette and a bathroom. Every resident has their own small appartment. The m|c Resident Training is set up individually. Concerning certain topics there are also group events occuring including every resident.
After a maximum of three years the residents are supposed to be able to live indepently with as few support as possible. Most important is to supply oneself on one´s own account: shopping, fixing meals, personal hygiene, cleaning, visting the practitioner and getting along with one´s money. Yet other things that make life interesting are mediated: planning one´s leisure, building up and caring for friendships and relationships, holidays and coping with conflicts. And more is more: getting help when you are stuck!
Since the m|c Resident Training is limited to three years at a max the planning of the future suffers a great significance. This exciting process is being expertly guided and accompanied by the employees of the m|c Resident Training.
The perspective after the training will be elaborated together.
The m|c Resident Traing is suitable for anyone who
- lives in the family but wishes to live independently
- lives in a facilty but wishes to prepare for a life with lesser support
- does not yet dare to live alone but would like to take that step forwards
