House Heinrich-Heine-Straße
The house Heinrich-Heine-Strasse is located in the district Schwachhausen and provides for 10 people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to live in small family communities.
Three levels are inhabited by two to four inhabitants each. On the ground level there are women sharing an appartment, on the first floor there are two women and two men living and under the roof there lives a couple. Every inhabitant owns a spacious single room, some of which are equipped with an own bathroom as well. On every level there is a living-, an eating- and a cooking-area.
The inhabitants are between 21 and 65 years of age and work in the sheltered workshops of the Werkstatt Bremen. One inhabitant has already retired. The employees work out a leisure time programme according to the wishes of the inhabitants which is gladly being participated in.
The living and support offer in the house Heinrich-Heine-Straße is designed for people who are able to live in small communities due to their social and daily-life specific skills.
The pedagogic employees support the inhabitants in their self-responsibilty and independence actively, enduring and individual. Co-determination and co-creativeness are basic principles in that matter.
The support between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. ist assured which is geared to the day-structure and the needs of the inhabitants. At night we have an on-call-duty.
Embedded in the wonderful district Schwachhausen anything one might ask for is reachably close at hand. In summer inhabitants and employees throw a nice garden party which is gladly visited by neighbours and other friends of the house.
